Progesterone is one of the most important hormones Progesterone is one of the most important hormones within female physiology.  Low progesterone can literally wreck your sense of wellbeing and greatly impact your quality of health and life.   It is literally the pro-gestation hormone that supports maintaining a pregnancy until full term but beyond that, it has so many protective functions within the human body and women especially need adequate, strong levels (this means ovulating strongly). This shining star protective hormone is mainly produced by the ovaries, but some are produced by the adrenal glands and the placenta too during different times of the month or pregnancy.  Progesterone is also synthesized in peripheral nerves and even brain regions by neurons and glial cells. From these production sites, the hormone travels via the blood (NOTE THE BLOOD IS THE HIGHWAY only, it does not indicate what is happening at cellular level or reception sites at all – and is HIGHLY variable during the day and time of the month); it then binds to the progesterone receptor sites that can be found throughout the body – especially glands/organs/brain.Note that hormones need ENZYMES for proper formation.  Enzymes are dependent on MINERALS!!  Mineral absorption is dependent on stress(or) levels, digestion and detox ability. Here is the catch!!!!  Progesterone receptors are BLOCKED in the presence of adrenalin!!  This means, if your body is dealing with high stress(ors), especially when you under-eat or struggle with malabsorption of nutrients, the body is left to produce its own fuel by breaking down its own tissues (gluconeogenesis), adrenalin will be secreted and…progesterone receptors blocked.In the follicular phase progesterone is produced mainly by the adrenal glands.  Will progesterone be produced adequately if the adrenal glands need to prioritise adrenaline secretion or are burnt out due to depleted minerals?  Nope. If you don’t ovulate well due to stress(ors) on the body, you are going to have low progesterone levels during your luteal phase, or not ovulate at all. Continue👇

Copper/Iron on the HTMA - What's the Story?Many Copper/Iron on the HTMA - What's the Story?Many people are confused about what to eat these days, and this leads to a host of mineral imbalances in the body.  One very common pattern I see with people who have health struggles, is an imbalance between Copper and Iron on the HTMA. To explain this in layman’s terms, Copper is an extremely important mineral that is responsible for so many functions and mechanisms in the body.  But it needs to be able to become bioavailable into ceruloplasmin to actually work. Dysregulated Copper can mean too high or low copper, especially in relation to Iron – either due to copper toxicity (copper supplements, copper exposure like pipes etc) or due to lack of copper (deficiency or non-bioavailability).  OR, it can be a lack of copper due to bio-unavailability of copper (due to other mineral/vitamin deficiencies, especially Retinol, vitamin C and copper rich foods).  This happens due to sluggish liver/adrenal function – mineral deficiencies, blocked detox pathways or toxic load, chronic inflammation. This affects the iron recycling system directly, as ceruloplasmin cannot be produced because of the lack of retinol/copper. A sluggish/weak liver and adrenals means ceruloplasmin cannot be produced in adequate amounts, even if Retinol and copper is coming in.  We have to lower stress, replenish and heal the liver, take the load off the adrenals, heal the gut, ensure stomach acid is being produced and that the correct nutrients, especially retinol and copper rich foods are coming in to create ceruloplasmin and in turn for the Iron recycling system to work correctly – plus ALL other functions in the body that are heavily dependent on ceruloplasmin production. If you would like to see where your body is at a CELLULAR level, a Hair Mineral Analysis is a very accurate test to see where your imbalances lie.  See link in BIO – I offer the test and a professional interpretation & recommendations to restore mineral balance in your body long-term.

Estrogen Dominance and Liver HealthEstrogen can Estrogen Dominance and Liver HealthEstrogen can cause a host of very unpleasant negative effects in the body for various reasons.  Women typically experience symptoms due to Estrogen being out of balance in the body and this typically manifests in the monthly cycle as PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome), or in very extreme degree, as PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder), but can also manifest as many other symptoms from Fibrocystic/Tender breasts, to mood alterations, to fatigue, to Weight Gain, Libido issues, kan-s-w-er and so many more.   The reasons why these unpleasant, and at times, debilitating conditions occur include:1.      Estrogen is too high in the body, which comes down to a very Estrogenic lifestyle, eating inflammatory foods like PUFAS that promote Estrogens and or contain phytoEstrogens, or xenoEstrogens from chemicals or plastic that leach into products and are consumed and absorbed by the body.Estrogen will build up and one will become Estgrogen Dominant in the true sense of too much Estrogen in the body.2.      When detox pathways are not supported properly, blocked, or obstructed for example tight bra wearing, lymph node removal or the Estrogenic load exceeds the pathway’s ability to handle the magnitude of Estrogen that needs to be detoxed, Estrogen will be stored into bodily tissues. 3.      If Progesterone creation is not supported by nutrition and lifestyle (Stress reduction), the imbalance between Estrogen and Progesterone can cause Estrogen Dominance. So Estrogen might totally be in range on bloodwork, but if you look at the RATIO between E:P and it is below 100 (optimal 100 – 500), you are in trouble. Here comes the crux with the liver.  A liver that is either overburdened or malnourished will not be able to detoxify excess Estrogen via detoxification phase 1 and 2.  The liver conducts over 500 functions in the body and therefore needs a lot of nutrients to be able to replenish itself and clear itself out from excess Estrogen via phase 3 – excretion via bile into bowels. Continue in Comments...👇

Minerals are responsible for enzyme creation which in-turn are responsible for optimal function within every bodily system, especially all hormone creations.
